In celebration of his sixtieth birthday and nearly fifty-year recording career, Chuck Mangione presents his wildly romantic tribute to the essence of love on his second Chesky Records release Everything For Love, to be released September 26, 2000. This collection of silky cuts featuring breathtaking improvisation and a straight-ahead approach employs the same kind of captivating and loveable composition that has characterized Chuck's work throughout his career. This is a jazz record that will make you want to grab your loved one and dance to memorable melodies that will inspire you to do Everything For Love. Chuck and his band (Gerry Niewood - Saxophone/Flute, Grant Geissman - Guitar, Charles Meeks, - Bass/Vocals, Corey Allen - Keyboards, Darryl Pellegrini - Drums) initiate their homage to love with the bouncy Valentine's Day theme from Fox TV's Emmy Award-winning King of the Hill, where Chuck plays a regular recurrent role. The audience is then taken on a journey through a passionate slow jam dedicated to the love of Chuck's life, his wife Rosemarie. From there the listener is moved into a soulful arrangement of Amazing Grace featuring individual interpretations by Chuck, Geissman, Allen and Niewood. Following a series of tracks that alternate between the more sensuous side of love and thoughtful reminiscence, Chuck belts out the Brazilian-influenced title track I Do Everything For Love. The album comes to a close with Freddie's Walkin', an energetic spiritual introducing the vocals of Charles Meeks in a dedication to Chuck's godson. Originally recorded at 96-kHz/24-bits, Everything For Love boasts unmatched musical clarity in Chesky Records' signature high-resolution sound. |
