2009 DVD release featuring King Crimson in an adventurous, exploratory concert, deftly recorded in Tokyo in 1995. The brilliance of Robert Fripp, King Crimson s mastermind guitarist, is fully on display in this extended appearance, which features some of the most advanced musicians of our time: Adrian Belew on guitar, Tony Levin on bass, and Bill Bruford and Pat Mastelotto on percussion. Electronics are, of course, also part of the mix, with Trey Gunn playing the synthesizer known as Warr guitar, and Tony Levin on Chapman Stick, the electronic stringed instrument played like a cello. And for all the sophistication, King Crimson once again rocks the house. |
