Martin Stephenson is one of the many artists who broke through in the early eighties and who has managed to retain not only his fan base but also his credibility despite the fact that his career has taken a number of twists and turns and seen him move with ease from eighties pop through to roots music and a few other stops in between. Live At The Roscoe finds Martin playing at his best in front of an intimate audience at the Roscoe in Leeds. The concert includes some incredible material including the more recent Wheel Of Fortune from Martin's most recent album and further back with Gypsy Dave along with the superb acoustic guitar playing featured on Cromarty Rag all mixed in with his inimitable humour. This is the debut DVD to come from Martin Stephenson who manages to straddle the left field of roots music along with the mainstream pop influence he displayed in the eighties and beyond with the Daintees. |
