Recorded: Jan 2003, Studio Du Flon, Lausanne, Switzerland
In the next step of his evolution as a pioneering jazz figure, French trumpeter Erik Truffaz continues his exploration of modern dance rhythms informed by drum 'n' bass and hip hop as well as gripping rock 'n' roll with his quartet on The Walk of the Giant Turtle. The Walk Of The Giant Turtle follows his 2002 release, Mantis. The Walk of the Giant Turtle is an enhanced CD (e-CD) with a 13 minute video on the making of the album. Joining Truffaz on the new disc are his longtime quartet, Patrick Muller on piano & electronic keyboards, Marcello Giuliani on bass and Marc Erbetta on drums.
Limited special edition release for the jazz/fusion act features 10 tracks packaged in a digipak, plus 2 bonus live tracks, 'Bending New Corners' & 'Flamingos', recorded July 2003 at the Jerusalem Festival Songs Of Freedom, Palestine, on a separate CD packaged in a paper sleeve. This enhanced CD contains a 15 minute video.
