Recorded in 1982 this recording pre-dates their legendary demo "No life 'til leather". Many of the songs on this recording would later feature in the bands first album "Kill 'em all" although some of the dongs would have major lyric changes and the song "Mechanix" would subsequently be retitled "Four horsemen".
This original line up first came together in late 1981 and made this recording in early 1982. Ron McGovney left the band in March 1982 and subsequently left the music industry altogether. He was replaced by Cliff Burton, who became an important part of the bands success until his untimely death in an accident whilst on tour with Metallica in Europe. Dave Mustaine "left" the band in April 1983 and was replaced by Kirk Hammett. Needless to say Mustaine went on to form Megadeth and have world wide success of his own. |
