Clark Terry is an internationally renowned trumpeter and headliner for jazz festivals around the globe. He began his career in the 1940s and worked with legendary greats such as Count Basie and Duke Ellington. His love of music crossed over into education and as director of the Clark Terry Great Plains Jazz Camp and noted author of books on trumpet technique, he is often referred to as "America's #1 Jazz Educator." Terry is a charismatic performer whose improvisation and love of jazz music always keep an audience enthralled.
One of the great trumpet men in American jazz, Clark Terry plied his trade under such masters as Duke Ellington and Count Basie, and along with fronting his own group, he's written books on music theory, led workshops for young jazz musicians, and is acknowledged as one of the best music educators in the field of jazz. Clark Terry: Live In Concert captures this living legend in his element -- playing in front of a packed house, and leading his combo through such songs as "Quicksand", "Moten Swing", "All Blues", "Take The 'A' Train", and "Bye Bye Blackbird". ---Mark Deming, All Movie Guide |
