| This DVD release of Marlene Dietrich was filmed in 1972 at the New London Theatre, London, England, and was originally released on video in 1973, we have enhanced the sound and added 5 new songs from her famous film The Blue Angel, including Go Away From My Window, Marie Marie and Das Lied Ist Aus. Dietrich began recording as early as the 1920's, releasing several live albums through various record labels and moving to Capitol in the mid-'60s, but retiring a decade later. She returned only for two roles - one in the 1979 film Just a Gigolo with David Bowie, the other a 1984 documentary called Marlene, with her recorded interviews but no glimpse of the present-day Dietrich. |
