Creating mayhem and wreaking havoc throughout America's Midwest, Bludgeon (singer/rhythm guitarist Mark Duca, bassist Eric "E" Karol, drummer "Chewy," and lead guitarist Carlos Alvarez) have spent the last few years redefining the term "underground metal." The band has the singular distinction of being the first act signed to MANOWAR's Magic Circle Music and the first project, outside of MANOWAR to be produced by its legendary bassist Joey DeMaio. Bludgeon is not just another American group taking an ill-fated stab at Scandinavian black metal, however, nor are its members nefarious crucifiers, hell-bent on impaling clergymen. The band simply refuses to be confined to someone else's parameters; resists being locked into one style of music or a single area of song-writing; and is as comfortable expounding social commentary as it delves into the darkness that is life. These Chicago speed-demons devour extreme rock in all its forms, and when they come to a town near you, they're going to spew it back in your face. "We want to prove ourselves," says "Chewy." "I know the people who come to see us will feed off our adrenaline."
And that's exactly what happened during the band's recent trip to Europe as the support act for MANOWAR, all documented for eternity in this new DVD/CD package, Bludgeon-Crucified Live.
Watch the band unleash, for the first time, their brand of head-exploding death/thrash metal on unsuspecting European audiences. Included in the 45-minute DVD collection of metal mayhem are live performances of eight blistering tracks, including album favorites "Zero Tolerance," "Idle Distinction," and "Abandoned." Outrageous outtakes and often-hilarious backstage footage punctuate the energetic stage presentations, revealing more than a glimpse of everyday life on the road in Europe. Filmed in 12 countries with cuts taken from 35 different performances, shot with 6 cameras, recorded and mixed in digital, 5.1 surround sound that will shred your speakers, this DVD displays the animalistic power and devastation that blasted more than 100,000 people on Bludgeon's highly anticipated European tour! If that isn't enough, two bonus songs round out the DVD-"Smoke Screen" and the music video for the track "Crucify The Priest."
