Eliane Elias Trio Elian Elias - Piano Jay Randall Anderson - Bass Adam Nussbaum - Drums
Booklet Languages: English, German, French
"She has the hands of a pianist!" Considering who Eliane Elias is this is not really a surprising statement. It was, however, the first comment her mother made on hearing the first cry of the future pianist, composer and singer in Sao Paolo on 19 March 1960. It was in the blood; Lucy Elias, a classical pianist, had practised six to seven hours a day during her pregnancy. Small wonder therefore that classical piano music had a formative influence on her daughter. It clearly shows in some of her playing, even if one is not acquainted with her recordings of Villa Lobos or with her Chopin interpretations. When she started playing the piano at the age of seven, she received the usual classical piano tuition. |
