Kenny Cornett and the "Killin' Time" band was formed in 1989 and is based out of the Gonzales La. area. The band was influenced by local artists such as Van Broussard, Mike Broussard, Cookie and the Cupcakes, Warren Storm, Johnny Allen, and Percy Sledge. We have backed artists such as Tommy Mclain, Dale and Grace, Van and Grace Broussard, Warren Storm, Johnny Allen and Little Alfred. The band plays a wide variety of music including Swamp Pop, Country and Rock and Roll from the 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's. They began as a four-piece group with a guitar, keyboard, drums and bass guitar. The band grew to six pieces over the years adding a trumpet and a tenor saxophone. We released two CD's, one in 1993, "Kenny Cornett and Killin' Time Volume 1, and one in 2006, "My One And Only Dream. They also have a full time sound technician who sets up equipment and sets sound during the performances. The band performs for private and public functions. Some of the public places the band has performed at are Graces' Lounge, St.Amant La., Gonzales Jambalaya Festival, Gonzales La., and The Kabara Lounge in Gonzales La., Canal Bank Club, Head Of Island, La. |
