Andrew Rathbun - Saxophone, Liner Notes, Producer
Taylor Haskins (tp), Helen Richman (fl), Chris Komer (fh), John Stetch (p), Ben Street (b), George Schuller (d), Luciana Souza (vcl)

"The music of this CD is the result of a poem of Cathy Song called "Lost Sister", which I saw while riding the subway", says tenor and soprano saxophonist and composer Andrew Rathbun. "This music is vital. I hope many people get to hear it. You don't hear playing and writing like this very often" says George Garzone. It features Taylor Haskins, trumpet; Chris Komer, french horn, Helen Richman, flute, John Stetch, piano & organ, Ben Street, bass, and George Schuller, drums and the emerging singer Luciana Souza. "This music was written specifically with her voice in mind", says Rathbun. Enjoy!

"This CD is the result of a poem I saw while riding the subway. My wife pointed it out to me as we were travelling home after a New York Philharmonic concert. A local book-store runs a series entitled "Poetry In Motion" and included a portion of Cathy Song's poem 'Lost Sister' on this segment. As soon as I saw it, I heard a little melody; I think because of the way the poem is phrased and its innate rhythm. When I got home I wrote the melody down, and the rest of the piece was quick to follow..."
