Keyboardist Joe LoCasio's second solo album, recorded and issued in 1987, navigates the fine line between mild jazz and even milder New Age. There are selections with minimal improvisation, intricate arrangements, electronic settings, and multi-track production. Other numbers, especially those where saxophonist Warren Sneed is able to do more than reproduce melodic fragments and LoCasio gets to stretch out, display the leader's roots in '70s East Coast pickup bands and as a former jazz student at the University of Bridgeport. Things never get too heavy, but there are moments suggesting that LoCasio's heart lies with the real thing, rather than its softer cousin. ~ Ron Wynn, All Music Guide
