Jazz
From hard-bop to an authentic soulfulness, jazz veteran Jim Ketch has created a hard-swinging jazz recording with world-class musicians; you're going to really 'dig' this!
Features original compositions by leader Jim Ketch and pianist Stephen Anderson, as well as tunes by jazz legends Kenny Dorham, Horace Silver, John Coltrane, Tom Harrell, and Frank Foster. Jim Ketch is Director of Jazz Studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a trumpet artist for the Conn-Selmer Corporation. He has performed or conducted in England, France, Switzerland, and the Netherlands, as well as at Carnegie Hall. His professional big band, the North Carolina Jazz Repertory Orchestra, has released three CD recordings and two video productions (including Ellington's Concert of Sacred Music) for public television.
Ketch has appeared with an extensive list of popular and jazz artists including The Temptations, The Four Tops, Ben E. King, Natalie Cole, The Manhattan Transfer, Marcus Roberts Trio, Gene Krupa Orchestra, Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra, Tom Harrell, Byron Stripling, and many others. |
