Jazz for kids - new from Carus! In the "Hoppel Hoppel Rhythm Club" series a group led by the jazz saxophonist Peter Lehel and the composer and pianist Peter Schindler presents popular children's songs in a creative jazz idiom inviting one and all to swing together. Thus the swinging mill rattles on the rushing stream, the cuckoo and the donkey compete in a singing contest to a cha-cha-cha, the wagon is driven with a groovy "He Ho," until everyone breaks into a sweat, while the bees buzz their little song to a bossa nova. And if someone has baked a cake they can leave with the post coach and bring it right to the beggar man for his wedding. In this way familiar, popular children's songs - interpreted by the Hoppel Hoppel Rhythm Club in jazzy arrangements - sound surprisingly new and fresh, and with this sound reveal the melodic treasures and word play which are hidden in these great and well-known melodies.
