The AS-IS Ensemble is the musical home of keyboardist/producer Michael Bellar. This highly excitable, alternative-jazz group was touted GENERATION NEXT! in Billboard Magazine following their first ever New York City gig. The group has opened for John Scofield and JFJO and has been the house band at the world-famous Blue Note jazz club in New York City and performed at such venues as Avery Fischer Hall at Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center in Washington DC and the JVC and Bell Atlantic Jazz Festivals in NYC. With the release of their previous CD Like It Is, brMichael was featured as UNSIGNEDbrARTIST OF THE MONTH in KEYBOARD magazine. As a sideman, Michael currently tours with Blue Note recording artist Amos Lee and has toured or recorded in the past with Art Garfunkel, Howie Day, Wheatus, Jump Little Children, Jay Clifford and Euro pop star Giorgia.
