2 CD Set + 20-page booklet
By the end of the 1930s trumpeter Harry James belonged to the small illustrious circle of white musicians beginning to make their influence felt on the future course of jazz and swing music. He was one of the most outstanding jazz instrumentalists of his day, using a style of playing that made his trumpet work instantly recognisable - and his impressive accuracy in the upper ranges was a serious challenge for the leading black stars of the day.
