Jazz
Featured in the third CD of the big-band collaboration between Swedish Radio P2 and Caprice Records is Magnus Lindgren. He has written all the arrangements and composed most of the music. The recording was made "live" in August 2001 with Sweden's foremost jazz musicians at Jazzclub Fasching, Stockholm, where they achieved an enormous public success with each performance on three successive evenings.
Magnus Lindgren was chosen as Jazz in Sweden artist 1999, and that year his CD "Way Out" was released to very favourable reaction from the critics. There he was heard with his own quartet plus the addition of four brass players. Since the middle of the '90s Magnus has been awarded a long list of distinctions both in Sweden and abroad. He is one of the most versatile musicians in Sweden today and one of the younger generation who has attracted most attention. Not only is he an instrumentalist but an arranger and composer who has worked in many different musical settings, for example, from Herbie Hancock to Bennie Andersson.
