Am particularly loving Shaun's soulful voice, which abounds all over and oozes pure class. If you don't believe me check out Days Like This, the sublime Space Rider, the acid jazzy Let It Go and the slick Conversations Of The Heart to name a few. Its been a long road and for a voice that evokes everything from Seal to Teddy Pendergrass, it's been well worth the wait. This album represents a month of year-defining LP's, proving that substance yet again triumphs over style. Go buy.

This is a cracking record, thoughtful, restrained, funky but sophisticated in all departments. Days Like This, Hurts Too Good and Windows I could listen to all night.
Independent On Sunday
At last the UK has a male vocalist who is the equal of any of our American cousins. This is a superb debut album. Shaun has not only pulled in the cream of UK producers but also delivered a crop of fresh, meaningful songs without any poor tunes. Yes, my friends, it's not often you get quality of this magnitude these days!

This album is quite the most winning thing to emerge this year from the London scene that produced Seal and Lyndon David Hall. Escoffery's cashmere voice and romanticism make reference to heritage soul, but the textures and flavours are modern. Escoffery is a real find.

Shaun Escoffery's debut album has been a long time coming and you'd be hard pushed to find anything as original as this east Londoner's debut. Throughout the course of 11 tracks, Escoffery manages to avoid the cliches urban artists tend to follow by offering an eclectic brew of profound lyricism, experimental beats and futuristic melodies that fail to point towards any particular genre. Still the albums got soul courtesy of Escoffery's powerful and husky vocals, and he presents stories of love and life with a skilful vocal ability that compliments the uniqueness of his music.
