Various '70s Soul Jam - Live From The Palace Theater - Nine bands that dominated the soul scene in the seventies joined forces in 2001 to go on an ecstatically received US tour: Harold Melvin & The Blues Notes, The Stylistics, The Dramatics, The Delfonics, Cuba Gooding and The Chi-Lites. As might be expected, not all the original band members were on hand, but nevertheless, enough of them took part to convey the original sound of such mega-hits as "If You Don't Know Me By Now", "You Are Everything", "Have You Seen Her", "Just Don't Want To Be Lonely", "In The Rain" or "Everybody Plays The Fool".
The tour was recorded for the DVD '70s Soul Jam - Live From The Palace Theater in New Haven, Connecticut. And the New Haven audience wasn't the only one taken by storm: all soul and Philly sound aficionados got their money's worth from the DVD cover alone. Whoever wants to can listen to each individual track or watch a colourful slide show after the hot, steamy concert.
