Armstrong's roots - musical and personal - were in New Orleans. He had an important influence on the devolopment of New Orleans Jazz. He originated the exposed solo parts and set completely new benchmarks for jazz trumpeters in the 1920s. He is definitely one of the most important instrumental soloists in Jazz. On top of this he is also one of the most considerable jazz singers, who‘s unmistakable voice made him famous all over the world. |
