Archie Semple is a cult figure of British Jazz: he was part of the Edinburgh scene which featured Sandy Brown, Al Fairweather, Alex Welsh & Stan Greig, but came to London in 1952. After spells with Mick Mulligan and Freddie Randall he joined Alex Welsh to form the first great Alex Welsh band. |
