Faces of China was recorded as music for the documentary Faces of China by Brigit Hillenius. The music and documentary tell the story of three dissident Chinese Poets. A videoclip is included with some of the material of the documentary.
Tony Overwater
Dutchman Tony Overwater (Rotterdam 24th of March 1965) is an extraordinary gifted bassist, who has played with many great jazz artists. With his Tony Overwater Trio he creates an international stir in 2000 with the Edison awarded debut album OP. Overwater is also a member of the renowned Yuri Honing Trio and the brand new electric jazz quartet Yuri Honing Wired Paradise, where he plays the bass guitar. Besides that, Overwater is a highly acclaimed composer, writing music for his own group, documentaries and modern, varying from jazz to improvised, from Arab to classical. Lastly, he works on music education with projects like Kikker Swingt and Stadsnootjes (City Notes). In 2003 Overwater received the VPRO/Boy Edgar Prize, the Dutch jazz award. |
