Beyond the appearances of superstar acts, and of course the charismatic host Don Cornelius, Soul Train's famous "dance line," during which studio audience members exhibited up-to-the-minute fashions, hairstyles, and dance moves, helped make the show the hippest trip in America! Now, for the first time ever on DVD, Time Life presents this two DVD set, featuring 29 superstar performances from the Soul Train archives, many of which haven't been seen in over 30 years, including exclusive performances by Jean Knight, Delfonics, Chi-Lites, Originals, Joe Tex, Honey Cone, Persuaders, Dennis Coffey and the Detroit Guitar Band, Al Green, Edwin Starr, Ike & Tina Turner, Jerry Butler, Joe Simon, Sylvers, Billy Paul, Temptations, Four Tops, O'Jays, Esther Phillips, Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes, Smokey Robinson & the Miracles, and the Soul Train Dancers.
This compilation features some of the most memorable performances from the popular soul and R&B themed music TV series, Soul Train. Some of the renditions featured in the program include Jean Knight's "Mr. Big Stuff", The Delfonics's "Didn't I (Blow Your Mind This Time)", and more.
