Chelsea were prime movers in the 1970s punk explosion. Keen to articulate their anger at the economic and political climate of the day, Gene October and his band were ferociously confrontational, and picked up a following who mirrored the band's attitude to life. This concert was recorded in Blackpool, England, and includes the songs "Right To Work," "Rockin' Horse," "Evacuate," and many more.
Streetpunk rules with this rare performance from the early London punk outfit Chelsea at Blackpool's infamous Bier Keller venue in 1984. The DVD was released by Cherry Red Records, an independent label established in 1978 that prides itself on releasing obscure material from all forms of U.K. punk and rockabilly acts from the '70s onward. ---Jeremy Wheeler, Rovi |
