Indie-pop-rockers The Frank And Waters play concerts in Dublin and their hometown of Cork in this release, performing a plethora of songs including 'Happy Busman', 'This Is Not A Song', 'After All' and 'Fashion Crisis Hits New York'
The first-ever DVD from one of the best Indie-Rock bands to emerge in the early '90s. The Frank and Walters (brothers Paul and Niall Linehan and Drummer Ashley Keating) began in Cork, in the early 1990's and their energetic live shows and infectious melodies built up a loyal following. In 1991 the Franks signed to Setanta Records. The band released a string of critically acclaimed EP's, filled with memorable songs - and supported the Inspiral Carpets and Carter USM on UK tours, their popularity grew and later on, as headliners, they were supported by Suede and Radiohead. The DVD features material from two concerts the band played in summer 2007 in Dublin and their hometown of Cork, plus a career-spanning interview with singer Paul Linehan and drummer Ashley Keating.
Tracks 1-19: The Spiegeltent, Cork City, June 22nd Tracks 19-23: Whelans, Wexford Street, Dublin, May 12th
One of the more offbeat musical combos of the late Twentieth Century, Irish pop-punk trio The Frank and Walters (comprised of Ashley Keating and brothers Niall Linehan and Paul Linehan) named their outfit after a pair of homeless men. They recorded less frequently than other bands (witness the lengthy delay in-between their premier and sophomore albums) but nonetheless swept up a loyal following with such efforts as 1996's Grand Parade and 1999's Beauty Becomes More than Life. The concert release The Frank and Walters: Live at the Spiegeltent Cork finds the boys performing a set before a live audience, at the Spiegeltent venue, in their hometown of Cork City, Ireland. ---Nathan Southern, All Movie Guide |
