Formed from the remnants of The Housemartins, Beautiful South became one of the best ‘radio appeal' British pop bands of the 80's and 90's. Paul Heaton and Dave Hemingway's song writing talents produced pure pop mini-stories full of pathos and gritty, sometimes sharp opinions about love and loss and all that happens in between.
Their promo videos were the stuff of legend – and a collection of those masterpieces are contained on this DVD, which leaves us a memory of the band who finally split in 2007 citing ‘musical similarities' - with sales of 15 million records behind them. |
