Alison Ellwood directs this official documentary, History Of The Eagles, exploring the history of the iconic US rock band. Formed in Los Angeles in 1971, The Eagles established themselves as one of the foremost music acts of the '70s with seven number one singles, including arguably their best known song Hotel California.
Featuring a blend of archive material, performance footage and even home movies recorded by the band members, the documentary aims to evoke the highs and lows of their long career.
One of the broader ironies of The Eagles' career - apart from the fact that a band that sang of peaceful easy feelings actively fought for much of it - is that it took an Englishman and a London studio to forge their quintessentially Southern Californian, Seventies soft-rock sound.
