Following on from Hank Marvin’s 2014 Top 10 album ‘Hank’, Edsel is releasing a Special Edition box set containing his five solo albums recorded between 1982 and 1995. Even aside from his successful and lengthy solo career and Marvin, Welch & Farrar, as a member of The Shadows and with Cliff Richard,
Hank Marvin has played on some seventy hit singles and over fifty hit albums and that’s just in the UK. The global hits across the decades in such countries as South Africa, Australia, Japan, France, Germany, Holland and countless others underline the global success in which he played a major part, writing, playing and singing.
Packaged in a deluxe clamshell outer box, this 5CD, 71-track anthology includes the albums ‘Words And Music’, ‘All Alone With Friends’, ‘Into The Light’, ‘Heartbeat’, ‘Hank Plays Cliff’, with the bonus track ‘Nivram’ which appeared on the CD single ‘Wonderful Land’.
These five albums include guest appearances/performances from Duane Eddy, Mark Knopfler, Brian May and Cliff Richard. Two tracks – ‘Wonderful Land’ and ‘Nivram’ were produced by Jeff Lynne. The 4,500 word booklet includes an introspective liner note by acclaimed broadcaster, presenter and music writer, Mike Read.
