Tabu Records defined the sound of young America throughout the late 1970s and 1980s, with hugely successful acts like Brainstorm, The S.O.S. Band, Alexander O Neal and Cherrelle, whilst nurturing the powerhouse production team of Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis one of the most successful production teams of the last 30 years. A comprehensive deluxe re-issue campaign will roll throughout 2013 and into 2014.
The label’s LP re-launch continues with The S.O.S. Band’s fourth album for Tabu, ‘On The Rise’, which was the album that helped the band crossover to a much broader mainstream/pop market. The album includes “Tell Me If You Still Care”, “For Your Love” as well as the iconic “Just Be Good To Me”, a track covered and became a UK #1 by Beats International (aka Norman Cook aka Fatboy Slim), as well as being the basis of Professor Green and Lily Allen’s “Just be Good To Green”.
This 180g heavyweight audiophile release, replicates and updates the original LP release and includes Free Download Card.
