He spent more time in the #1 chart position than any other Country music artist. In 2006, he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame and has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Sonny James ranks as the 12th biggest Country artist of the '60s - above the likes of Loretta Lynn, Roger Miller, Merle Haggard and Bobby Bare. For the '70s - when the tracks on this CD kept his chart profile alive - he comes in at 10th, putting him above Johnny Cash, Glen Campbell, Jerry Lee Lewis and even Willie Nelson. |
