This release includes the complete Stan Getz album Focus (Verve V6-8412), which presents the great saxophonist backed by strings, playing music composed and arranged by Eddie Sauter. This set presents the original album in its entirety (two 45-rpm versions that are listed in discographies are in fact edited versions of the tracks included on the LP). As a bonus, another entire Getz album: Cool Velvet (Verve MGVS68379), which features the tenor player again backed by strings, this time performing standards arranged by Russell Garcia.
