In 1981, Billy Cobham's Glass Menagerie was formed, featuring Michael Urbaniak, Gil Goldstein, Tim Landers, and Mike Stern. Dean Brown replaced Stern when he left to play with Miles Davis. Glass Menagerie released two records for the Elektra Musician label. Recorded in Switzerland in 1981, this features Cobham at his best in front of what football enthusiasts would doubtlessly call "a home crowd" who obviously adore him. On Disc Two, he teams up with the legendary keyboard player George Duke, and goes on an unprecedented sonic journey redefining the tern fusion. |
