| Its interesting to remember the fuss that was made over the Beastie Boys when they first came to parochial old Britain. For one this they started a craze in which young hoodlums stole badges off Volkswagen Passats to the anger of dads across the country. Paul's Boutique was probably the first sign that this was not just some New York novelty sent to ruin your hard earned hatchback. A more varied and sonically experimental work, it was a multi-hued record full of bravado, three-pronged vocal attacks but also inventive sampling which re-wrote the rule book of what hip-hop could be.
180g vinyl reissue LP on Capitol. Comes in a simplified gatefold jacket.
