“Slade Alive! “was released on March 24, 1972 and was the first live album by the British rock band. The LP reached number 2 on the UK album charts and was ranked in the Billboard Top 200 in the USA (#158). Since its release, “Slade Alive! “one of the most popular live albums of all time. On the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the first release of “Slade Alive! “The longplayer will be released on CD and LP on a new edition in the series “The Art Of The Album” on September 29th. In addition to the CD, the hardcover book format album includes a 28-page booklet with detailed information and archive photos by Barry Plummer. The liner notes by music journalist Chris Ingham recall the history of the band, the creation of the album and its significance 45 years later. Slade Alive! “is the second release in the “The Art Of The Album” series. In the age of direct access to music with streaming and downloads, this BMG series is intended to refocus the attention of the album as a format. “The Art Of The Album” presents classics that have brought new paths in concept, production, songwriting or in a genre.
