The Chet Baker biopic Born To Be Blue was a big hit on the art house and film festival circuit in 2016 - starring Ethan Hawke as the man with the golden trumpet who was superbly talented both as a trumpeter and a singer and an undisputed master of the jazz ballad. Now here's a tribute to the man and the film - featuring the original versions of many of the songs heard in the movie. The unforgettable performance by Odetta and Charles Mingus used on the soundtrack, as well as two amazing versions of the title song sung by Nancy Wilson and Helen Merrill (backed by another brilliant trumpet player, Clifford Brown) have also been included. |
