During the heyday of brass rock in the late 60's, Blood, Sweat & Tears reigned as one of the top two bands in the scene along with Chicago. Al Cooper (key, vo), who was in the Blues Project at the time, wanted to form a rock band that included the Horns, so he and Steve Katz (g), who was also in the Blues Project, formed the band in 1967. The original members of the band are known to have included Randy Brecker ( tp ). Since then, the band has undergone numerous member changes, and after one breakup, the band has continued to the present day. This is a recording of the band's performance at the famous Bottom Line club in New York City on November 8, 1977, broadcast by the popular radio program, King Biscuit Flower Hour. |
