This is an excellent work from Sarah Vaughan's heyday, known as "The Singer". She sang "Smoke Stings My Eyes" with a wide range of notes, "Stardust" with her signature scatting, and "Jazz" with its powerful, full-bodied score. The songs include "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes," sung in a wide range of registers, "Stardust," in which she makes full use of her signature scatting, and the powerful "Just One of These Things.
