Tracks 1 to 12 were originally issued in 1967 as "Charlie Rich Sings Country And Western".
The title originally planned, "Charlie Rich Sings The Songs Of Hank Williams", was objected to by the Hank Williams estate but it was issued under this title in 1974, and in 1977 with the title 'I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry'.
Tracks 13 to 16 are the A and B sides of non-album singles. The other material was unissued at the time of recording. Tracks 17 to 22 were issued on the Hi/Demon compilation 'I'll Shed No Tears', and tracks 23 to 25 are previously unreleased. |
