The Great Jazz Trio has a 30-year history of recording fabulous jazz performances and has built up a large following of admirers and fans. Over the years, The Great Jazz Trio featured some of the most unique and interesting combination of superb musicians with Hank Jones at the center. 'S Wonderful is the latest incarnation of The Great Jazz Trio and this time Hank leads John Patitucci on bass and Jack DeJohnette on drums, forming another dream team of jazz greats. At 85-years young (at the time of recording), Hank is still going strong and his energy is well matched with these younger, talented musicians. Many old favorite standards, including "'S Wonderful," "Moanin'," "Take Five," "Night Train" and "Lover Come Back to Me" are all given a new twist. The album concludes with a very heartfelt rendition of "Greensleeves."
