"Byrd's Eye View" (with one bonus track) features Jazz Messengers Hank Mobley, Horace Silver and Art Blakey with guest Joe Gordon. "Byrd Blows On Beacon Hill" is a quartet affair with Ray Santisi and Jim Zitano. "Watkins At Large" includes Mobley, Kenny Burrell, Duke Jordan and Art Taylor. Important early hard bop by some of its greatest practitioners.
