This obscure session found bassist Charles Mingus along with two of his sidemen (tenor-saxophonist Bobby Jones and trumpeter Eddie Preston) performing three of the bassist's compositions in Japan with Toshiyuki Miyama and His New Herd, a fine big band. Little all that memorable occurs and there is only around 32 minutes of music so this CD is not all that essential, but Mingus completists will want to pick up this rarity.
