The material on this album was recorded at the Rathskellar in San Francisco on April 18, 1978. The occasion was a broadcast celebrating the "72nd Anniversary Of The Cataclysm" - The San Francisco Earthquake And Fire. Sponsored by Transamerica Co., Harrah's-Reno, Hastings and Cresta Blanca Winery. The show was emceed by Jim Watt of KMPX-FM. Jim acted as m.c. for many of the band's live broadcasts over the years and hosted "The Jim Watt Program" and "Collector's Corner," featuring vintage jazz records, on KMPX. In addition, he is an expert recording engineer, responsible for the original tape of this broadcast and the excellent sound quality therein. |
