Jazz pioneer Earl Hines made significant and influential contributions to the world of solo piano playing. This original Atlantic recording documents Hines' famous concert recital recorded live in New York in 1964, during which Hines provided new and enlightening interpretations to standards "I Ain't Got Nobody," "Someone to Watch Over Me," and "St. Louis Blues." On this album, he is backed by Ahmed Abdul-Malik on bass, Oliver Jackson on drums and Budd Johnson on tenor sax.
