Frances Wayne sang with the Charlie Barnet Band before joining Woody Herman's outfit, where she met and wed trumpeter-arranger Neal Hefti, who was an integral member of the Herman organization. The Neal Hefti Orchestra toured and recorded in the late forties and early fifties, and these recordings are featured here, many making their first appearance on CD. |
