 Spike Robinson: tenor saxophone
 Sweets Edison: trumpet
 Ross Tompkins: piano
 Monty Budwig: bass
 Paul Humphrey: drums

On the first of two CDs, tenor saxophonist Spike Robinson teams up with trumpeter Harry "Sweets" Edison, pianist Ross Tompkins, bassist Monty Budwig and drummer Paul Humphrey. It is not too surprising that Robinson (whose tone often recalls Zoot Sims) works well with swing legend Edison. Although the title piece is a blues, the repertoire is primarily comprised of swing standards, with some heat generated on such tunes as "The One I Love," "Autumn Leaves" and "Slow Boat to China."
--- Scott Yanow, All Music Guide

"Robinson is a singing tenor with a light Prez-based tone... he seems to blow effortlessly with a pleasing flow of ideas..."
 --- Stanley Dance - JazzTimes, Sept.'89
