This is a project of the heart for me. Since I can first remember hearing my father, I've always been astonished by his ease and mastery in playing. When we play together, I am buoyed by a complete feeling of support that comes from my father's innate ability to set aside his ego and respond to the moment. There was a point about 20 years ago when I remember feeling this deep connection with my father for the first time. I had acquired enough know-how to trust that I could negotiate the "musical waters" and I had a moment of "letting go of my craft" to plumb even greater depths. We had started playing that evening at midnight and continued until 3am. We had experienced a "dialogue of the heart".
