 Peter Washington - Bass

One of the premier jazz pianists since the 1960's, Cables brings together old friends to create a classic jazz quartet (a la Dave Brubeck and Thelonius Monk) On this, his 18th release under his own name, George performs eight of his latest compositions along with two beautiful renditions of standards, Eric Satie's "Gymnopedie" and Carol King's "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow?". Recorded in January and February, 2003 in NYC, using all acoustic instrumentation, tunes are a mix of up-tempo post bop selections and ballads.

Don Heckman of the Los Angeles Times describes George's piano playing as "defining the instrument as a jazz voice".
