This 1985 recording features yesterday's Young Lions, who went on to become stars. Curtis Lundy and Bobby Watson were best of friends in their native Miami. They left together for the Big Apple, where their substantial talents immediately impressed the established jazz players on the scene. Lundy soon performed or recorded with Art Blakey, Pharoah Sanders, Betty Carter and John Hicks. On this CD, bassist Lundy used the opportunity to feature his sister, vocalist Carmen Lundy, on two tracks, as well as alto saxophonist Bobby Watson, pianist Hank Jones, vibe player Steve Nelson, and drummer Kenny Washington.
