Keith Oxman: Tenor Saxophone Chip Stephens: Piano Ken Walker: Bass Todd Reid: Drums
Keith Oxman, a Denver, Colorado native, has gigged steadily as a leader and as a sideman for almost 25 years including a stint on the road with the Buddy Rich Big Band, and appearances with Sonny Stitt, Art Blakey, Jack Mc Duff, Tom Harrell, Jon Hendricks and Mel Torme. He has also taught music to students from elementary to high school levels, bringing the students into studios to record their performances: an educational experience in which few young musicians partake.
Chip Stephens, originally from Ashland, Ohio, is currently a professor of Keyboard and Jazz Studies at the University of Colorado at Boulder. He has toured with the bands of Glenn Miller, Woody Herman, Maynard Ferguson and Arturo Sandoval, and played with many others.
Ken Walker, from Little Rock, Arkansas, has been on the faculty of the Lamont School of Music at the University of Denver for over a decade, teaching jazz bass and coaching several student ensembles. As a player he has shared bandstands with many of the greats including Pharoah Sanders, Eddie Harris, Nat Adderley, Clark Terry, Freddie Hubbard, James Moody, Benny Golson, Jimmy Heath, Fathead Newman and Houston Person.
Todd Reid of Minneapolis, Minnesota, is currently a software developer, but was on the faculty of the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music during the 1980's. He has been playing drums professionally for over 20 years and has provided support for Eddie Daniels, Red Holloway, Nick Brignola, Mose Allison, Ingrid Jensen and Dr. Lonnie Smith, among others. |
