Clay Giberson - piano
Clay Giberson's latest recording is a soothing, plaintive exploration of ten of Giberson's original compositions. After CDs that featured his acoustic jazz trio ("Mirador") and his more electric, modern second recording ("Upper Road"), Clay goes it alone this time with only his grand piano and tunes that reflect his more intimate and personal compositional leanings. Reminiscent of the earlier solo recordings by Keith Jarrett and Chick Corea, Giberson adds a very important voice to the solo piano repertoire and in the process, provides a subtly beautiful soundtrack for our times.

"Giberson's previous solo album, Mirador, was a strong straight-ahead set. Here though, he fashions a more contemporary sound that has the intelligence, lyricism, depth and accessibility to appeal to fans of, say Pat Metheny." --- Marty Hughley "The Oregonian"
Well traveled geographically and musically, keyboardist/composer Clay Giberson's artistic talent and musicianship are coming to the forefront, A Southwest Washington native, he studied in Coral Gables, Florida, University of Miami (B.M. Cum Laude, Studio Music and Jazz) and New York City, New York University (M.M. Magna Cum Laude, Music Technology) where he studied with Jim McNeely, Fred Hersch and Vince Maggio. Clay has released three recordings on the Seattle based Origin Arts record label. He has performed throughout Europe, Scandinavia, the Mediterranean, the South Pacific and Caribbean and Japan. Having been influenced by all types of music, Clay draws from these idioms in his own compositions and in the interpretation of others.
